Missions Committee

For the third year Trinity has sponsored a Mini Grant Program for Service and Ministry Projects. This program financially supports projects and programs where Trinity members are already involved, and encourages increased member involvement. This year we were pleased to receive a large number of applications and were very blessed to be able to provide $20,000 from the Support for Others/Missions budget to support 17 projects, which include:

  • Five programs for local low income families– hygiene kits and gift bags, personal care items, holiday meals and toiletries, holiday cookies, special food for those with Celiac disease and/or food allergies
  • Two programs for individuals with development disabilities— purchase of transport and a special camp
  • Two youth camp programs—for high-risk urban youth and for children with spina bifida
  • Two Bible translation programs in Ghana
  • A two-year parenting skills ministry for expecting parents
  • Food supplements for low income families in Guatemala
  • Gospel sharing materials at a thrift store
  • Support for individuals and families facing mental illness
  • Sharing of comforting, inspirational music CDs with shut-ins
  • LCMS missionaries in Germany

The Missions Committee appreciates the participation of all those who applied for mini grants, and also the diligent work of the Mini Grant Evaluation Committee of Trinity members who made recommendations on the dispersal of the funds.
