Lenten Devotional Materials

Sacred Space for Lent

Sacred Space for Lent 2017

By Irish Jesuits

One of my spiritual mentor and I (Vicar Ben) once prayed together along the rhythms found in this book. We did this for several months or more. The rhythms are written by Irish Jesuits, and while we are Lutheran, he and I found the process very meaningful. I want to share that with you this year, and I hope you find it meaningful in how it affects your life with Jesus far beyond this season of Lent.

Jesus and the Gospels

Jesus and the Gospels

By Frederick Niedner

The texts and reflections in this booklet follow the story of Jesus’ passion in a chronological order, from his call to cross-bearing discipleship to the events of the passion narrative and the discovery of the empty tomb. These devotions seek to proclaim the good news of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection by drawing on the diversity that comes from having four canonical gospels, thus providing us with a richer understanding of our Savior’s sacrifice for us.

Living the Gospel Life

Living the Gospel Life: The Season of Lent

We are Christians on a mission, even in the season of Lent! The daily devotions in this booklet highlight the concepts of being sent, demonstrating faith in action, and being mission-minded each day of Lent. Suggested activities are associated with preparing our hearts, souls, and minds to reflect on the suffering, death, and resurrection of Christ and his mission for us.

Home Heart Spirit

Home Heart Spirit

A Christian family is a special group of disciples of Jesus, called by our baptism and empowered by the Holy Spirit to love one another. It is in the family that we first experience the love of God, and the family is where our heart and spirit feel most at home. During Lent, we take an honest look at the way we are living our lives and ask for forgiveness and for the strength to do better. The prayers, activities and suggestions in Home Heart Spirit help families accomplish that together.
