Senior Ministry at Trinity is focused on ministering to those age sixty and older in our congregation and community. We intentionally try to help seniors understand that age does not diminish the importance of being a Child of God. Aging may alter the means of sharing our gifts, but we all do still have gifts that God wishes for us to share with the world. Many of us have learned how to share those gifts and are good examples and mentors.
Many of us are still trying to discern what God has planned for our lives. Trinity is addressing this ministry by concentrating on the areas of spirituality, health, and resource identification. We are working with our excellent existing Bible Classes. They are the 50+ class led by Pastor Ron which meets on Wednesday at 10:15am and the Brown Bag Bible study which meets every Wednesday at 12:30pm. The 50+ study will resume on September 14 with a kick-off meet and greet. The brown baggers meet continually throughout the year.
We offer monthly special events and “Senior Speaker Series” talks which focus on health issues and resource options for daily living. In addition, seniors have the opportunity to record a video of them speaking about their spiritual life journey. If you would like a review of the past year’s topics, one is available at church. Trinity continues to minister to our members who are sick and homebound. Care and encouragement is offered to them on a regular basis.
Recently a “Senior Café” was held to review what we have done and to plan for the future. Many ideas have been shared and we are busy finalizing events and opportunities for you to share the gifts God has given you.
