Earlier this week Pastor Mark announced to the congregation his intention to retire in January of 2024. He shared this intention with the Executive Committee a few months ago, and we have already begun working on a transition plan.
Pastor Mark will be undergoing hip replacement surgery on Monday. He will be off for a couple of weeks recuperating. Please keep him in your prayers.
For the summer a the Shawnee campus, we be embark upon a inter-generational Bible study/video series called “Torchlighters: Heroes of the Faith.” After watching the video each week, we will break our into age-based groups for discussions and activities. Popcorn provided!
Hope Lutheran School in Shawnee is seeking two full-time teachers for the fall.

On the weekend of May 27-28, the Day of Pentecost (fifty days of Easter and ten days after the Ascension), the clergy wear red vestments to signify the work of the Spirit. It is also a custom in many churches for the people in the congregation to wear red on the Day of Pentecost as well. We invite you to wear red on Pentecost Sunday to remind us of the fire of the Spirit.
