On November 24, 1974, Trinity Lutheran Church dedicated the window at the east end of the Mission campus sanctuary. This year we will celebrate the 50th anniversary of that art glass window in all Mission campus services on November 23-24.
Entitled The Church’s Mission and Ministry, the window was given by Trinity members in memory of loved ones. It was designed and constructed by Hopcraft Pringle Glass Works and by artist, Paul Mann. Church members were also involved in the design process, carefully considering the various panels, their symbols, and their overall organization.
Fun fact: due to the process involved, this is not technically a stained-glass window. It is an art glass window, with the specific type of art glass being “sculptured glass” or “chunk glass.” Each piece of glass is hand worked to facet its sides, allowing it to reflect the light the way it was designed. For more information, check out the Our Story Trinity history book, pp. 338-359.
Please join us for worship at the Mission campus, November 23-24. We will reflect on the meaning of each panel of the window and give thanks to God for this beautiful work of art and the past generations who gave their time and talents to bring it to Trinity.
