The Distinctive Witness of the Church

A Sermon Series on Discipleship and Witness

April 3 – May 15

Who are we?  What are we about?  What do we have that no one else has?  What does the world desperately need to hear from us?  These are the questions we hope to answer in our continuing sermon series, “The Distinctive Witness of the Church.” The Church—the body of Christ—has been entrusted with the message of the gospel, the good news of Jesus Christ.  The apostle Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, “For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day.”  This really is good news, and it is news that people in the world are dying to hear.  Our hope through this series is that you will gain a deeper grasp of the uniqueness and distinctiveness of the message that the church has to offer to the world, and in appreciating that message, become more eager to pass on that message to others.
