Advent Devotionals
Experience Advent in the Word of GodPeace to you and your dear ones!
We at Trinity will provide Advent devotions again this year. There are a few formats to try. The old favorite at Trinity is the collection of printed booklets. Those will be available on Christ the King Sunday, November 25, at both campuses. May the peace Christ brings in the reading of the Word and breaking of the Bread dwell within you and your dear ones. Peace to you.
What Child Is This?
For young families we picked out What Child is This? It’s a sticker storytelling devotional perfect for gathering around a tabletop Advent wreath through the season.

God’s Word Comes Down
For junior and senior high youth we picked out God’s Word Comes Down. It focuses on topics that connect best with youth. We’re also trying a new thing for youth this year. DCE Beth and I (Ben) are weaving together a matching devotional element that will post to Instagram every day. The post will match the booklet and the booklet will work as an “if you want to go deeper” sort of thing. Follow those @TLCMSYouth.

Hope-full Living
For our senior adults we picked out Hope-Full Living: The Season of Advent, which comes from a ministry Dr. Rich Bimler is part of. Many of you are friends of Rich’s and others still remember when he was at Trinity!

The Father’s Love
For adults, there are three options. First, Henri Nouwen is a favorite for many of us, so we picked another devotional with his writings called The Father’s Love.

Savior of the Nations Come
Second, I picked out a devotional called Savior of the Nations Come by Marj Maynard because I think the voice, leadership, and perspective teachings coming from women theologians are instrumental in helping us pay attention in seasons like Advent.

The Vineyard Brothers’ Devotional Book
Finally, my brother Samuel and I have been working on another devotional book together. It will focus on readings, prayers, and contemplative actions that fit the season well. Sam is doing the artwork again.
The devotional I’m putting together will be a printed booklet and a daily email. If you would like to sign up for the email, follow the link below.
