I recently traveled to St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN, for a conference of the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians (ALCM) in conjunction with Lutheran Summer Music (LSM). Highlights of the conference for me included Evening Prayer with LSM (a longstanding tradition since my days as an LSM student), a performance of Bach’s St. Matthew Passion, and closing worship in Boe Chapel. In workshops, I enjoyed learning about technology, hymn playing, working with neurodivergent singers, organ repertoire, and more. I also appreciated reconnecting with friends and colleagues from around the country. It was a blessing to be able to participate in this conference. Thanks to the congregation of Trinity for helping to fund this continuing education trip!
