On Saturday, April 12, students from the fifth through eighth grade and their parents had the opportunity to participate in Trinity’s Early Communion class. The class provides an in-depth look at what the Sacrament of Holy Communion means and how it nourishes our life of faith. They learn what Lutherans believe about Holy Communion and how Christ comes to us in his body and blood shared at this precious meal.
The class offers an experiential learning opportunity for the students and their parents. This includes baking unleavened bread, which is used for Communion at our Maundy Thursday worship services and a Seder experience. It also consists of decorating a special plate for the students to take home, which reminds them of the special meal they partake in with Holy Communion.
DCEs Rhonda Synovec and Beth Counts, and Pastors Luke Jacob and Mark Wood lead the class.
