Once again Trinity’s Senior Ministry is sponsoring an Easter Basket project for our homebound members. Last year we initiated this ministry and it was a blessing for all involved. Our homebound members received a cheery basket of goodies as well as some much-appreciated company, those taking the baskets were able to renew friendships and make new friends, and those donating items shared in knowing they were an instrument of God’s love. Here is how it will work in 2019. March will be collection month for items to include in the Easter baskets. We will collect all through the month. Bring your items beginning Saturday, March 3, and place them in the designated drop-off sites at both campuses. We will be asking our Preschool, Sunday School, Confirmation, and Youth to be creative in ways they wish to participate. All members are asked to donate items. We will assemble baskets probably after the 50+ Bible class on March 27. We will see if we can have a light lunch for those assembling baskets. The first two weeks in April will be designated as times to visit the home-bound members and take them baskets. We need a list of volunteers to deliver baskets. If you can, let Tom know by email. Here are some items for you to consider donating:

  • Tissues
  • Lotion
  • Reading material
  • Devotions
  • Candy (individually wrapped)
  • Slipper socks
  • Note cards
  • Birthday/holiday greeting cards
  • Stamps
  • Lap blankets

This project is a great way to spread God’s love and to show those we don’t have the opportunity to see often, that they are still on our hearts.
