On the Sundays of Lent, our sermons and worship will reflect the theme Knowing God: The Seven “I AM” Statements of Jesus. During this time, we will feature some of Trinity’s art collection that is related to this theme. Two pieces will be displayed at each campus, and partway through Lent they will trade places. The artworks that will be displayed are “Bread of Life” by Mary Kirk, “Holy Ground” by Dorothy Lightfoot, “I Am the Bread of Life” by Barry L. Kennedy, and “I Am” by Kerry Kellermeyer. Be sure to look for them on Sunday mornings!

Dorothy Lightfoot’s husband George wrote to us to let us know that Dorothy passed away on March 14, 2011. He explained that her painting was titled “Holy Ground” representing the theme of the Religious Art Show that year. George went on to say, “Dorothy and I always enjoyed submitting our paintings to the Religious Art Show that for many years was sponsored by Trinity Lutheran Church. This painting was Dorothy’s submittal one year. It was selected to be purchased by the church and she was thrilled. She would also be thrilled to have a photo of her painting included in the 75th anniversary book you’re compiling. Best wishes and God’s Blessings, George Lightfoot.”
