LERT (Lutheran Early Response Team) has been activated in Kansas City, Kansas (KCK), following the severe storm that impacted the Quindaro area on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning of last week.

The Immanuel Community Outreach Association (ICOA) will serve as the central hub for this response effort, providing lodging and support for volunteers traveling from outside the area. Recovery work will primarily focus on the neighborhood surrounding Faith Lutheran Church and will include significant tree and debris removal. (Storm damage to Faith Lutheran can be seen in the above photo.)

There are several ways you can support this effort:

Volunteer through LERT

by signing up to assist with cleanup activities, including moving branches and debris removal. Certified chainsaw operators are especially needed.

Provide food, water, or snacks

for volunteer teams serving in the area.

Keep those affected in your prayers

including residents recovering from the storm and the volunteers and crews involved in the response efforts.
