The Missions Committee has sponsored a mini grant program for over ten years to fund a limited number of Trinity members’ service projects and ministries, funding an average amount of $2,500 per applicant.

Some goals of the mini grant program include:

  • to find and support those ministries that already have Trinity members’ support and involvement.
  • to discover new opportunities of service or ministry that would benefit from financial support in the short term, particularly those that offer volunteer possibilities for other Trinity members in the long term.
  • to discover new opportunities for greater commitments and deeper involvement in the work God has prepared for us to do.
Eight organizations were awarded grants this year by a subcommittee of Trinity members who reviewed the mini grant requests submitted in June.

Grants were awarded to fund diverse ministries such as:

  • The Mission Community Food Pantry
  • Immanuel Community Outreach Association’s food pantry and church
  • KC Metro Men’s Chorus
  • Help to purchase additional shoes and sweaters for the Guatemala mission
  • Purchase of supplies to provide cookies for Shawnee’s Meals on Wheels
  • Purchase of yarn to knit blankets for Alexandra’s House
  • Purchase of batting to make quilts for Orphan Grain Train
  • Support for an infant memory garden housed at Hope Lutheran Church
Through your generous contributions Trinity is able to have a significant impact in our community and beyond.
