Trinity has always been blessed with amazing, generous people and that generosity was recently on display as we worked to prepare lunch bags for Metro Lutheran Ministry. People gave their time, donations, and dollars to make this effort a HUGE success. A special thanks to the City of Mission who allowed us to host a socially distanced packing event on Saturday, May 9.
We received prepared bags and packed bags to provide 1000 lunch bags for MLM. We received over $1,000 in monetary donations, and we had food items left over to donate as well. We have included pictures to share with you.
These meals are desperately needed during this time. In talking with MLM, they shared that through their central location they will give away 60-75 meals daily Monday – Saturday. This total will sometimes climb to 150 meals when they have special giveaways like senior commodities day. These numbers do not reflect those lunches given at their Northland and KCK locations.
How can you continue to help? For now, you may make lunches on your own following the graphic below. We are also talking with MLM regarding future needs and how we could assist. We will keep you informed as we learn of ways to be of service.
