2025 OneFund
Commitments
The month of May is your opportunity to reflect, discern, and consider what your annual OneFund stewardship commitment will be for our next fiscal year, which starts July 1. We ask you to submit your OneFund commitment card for our 2025/2026 fiscal year for OneFund Commitment Sunday on May 17-18 in worship or with the online form.
Financial Update
For those of you who are racing fans, we have reached the 3 quarters pole that is our annual budget. For those who are not racing fans, that means we have passed the ¾ mark (9 months) of our church budget for this fiscal year. Our budget runs from July 1 to June 30. As we come down the final stretch, we have an idea of where we are at in our budget from last year as we also begin to look forward to planning for next year’s budget.
Here’s a quick snapshot in numbers:
Current YTD Budget: $1,305,046
Current YTD Offerings: $1,098,924
Contributions year to date are –15.8% or $206,122 below budget.
Total Expenses year to date are –13.5% or $169,980 below budget.
The difference between our contributions to our expenses is – $36,142 or about 2.3% below budget. One of the reasons our expenses are below budget is because we had budgeted for a third pastor to be on staff for the entire fiscal year last year and as you know that hasn’t been the case. As we look toward the future, we will continue to plan to have a third pastor, knowing the financial reality that that will entail.
Looking beyond budgets, there are some exciting things happening at Trinity. Please check out the eNews for more information about our Mini Grant program. During the month of May, you have the opportunity to submit a Mini Grant request from the Missions committee. Each mini grant will have a maximum amount of $2,500 and will be awarded on a selective basis. Grants can be requested for any ministry that you feel passionate about. Last year a total of $18,100 was distributed to a variety of programs and ministries.
In March, the Trinity Foundation board met and approved 13 grants totaling over $76,000 for recipients both inside and outside of Trinity. We are truly blessed to have such a lasting legacy to impact ministry both now and toward the future.
God remains faithful and I give thanks for the generous givers in our congregation. While financial numbers are important, even more important is the ministry represented by those numbers. As a result of your ongoing, faithful support of Trinity, we are able to share the love of Jesus with people in the urban core through the ministries of mercy we support; with the children of community families and member families through our preschool, Sunday School, and vacation Bible school; with mission partners in Guatemala; with our youth as they also serve others; with those who gather for worship as well as those who join us online.
St. Paul encouraged the church in Corinth to continue to be a blessing to others:
“And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.”
2 Corinthians 9:8
I encourage you to do the same. Know that God has blessed you and you now have the opportunity to be a blessing to others. As we walk together as A Community Following Jesus, we look beyond ourselves to those whom God has placed in our lives. We can focus on the UP, IN, and OUT of discipleship where we live, work, and play.
May God bless us and always give us generous hearts, to the praise of His holy name
.
In His name,
