Together

By Roselea Nellis

In Christ we come together,
Like branches on a vine.
We share a common life source,
That is by God’s design.
We are both pruned and nurtured,
Sometimes our roots are tilled,
Perhaps it’s all so some day
Our branches will be filled.

As part of God’s creation,
Our being is in Him,
Apart we soon become like
A dry or dying limb.
Oh, wouldn’t it be glorious,
When earthly lives are spent,
If it’s our fruit, instead of years,
That make our branches bent?
