Resources for the Lutheran Spiritual Journey

Reformation is almost here, and after that comes the sacred season of Advent. These are times where many feel called by God’s Spirit to dig deeper into Scripture and into prayer. Some ask, “What can help me with this journey?”

I’ve found two helpful things for my journey: The Lutheran Study Bible and our Lutheran Treasury of Daily Prayer. The Study Bible has great notes that both dig deep but are also devotional and consoling. The notes were composed by Lutheran theologians and to me the perspective feels like “home.”

The Treasury is a fantastic prayer book that marks time, offers biblical readings, and has helped draw my attention to God devotionally. I’ve appreciated this. This prayer book has been a great companion for me, a little tool helping me be still with the Lord and live into a life of grace.

Are you interested in these? I have found a good deal and now has a few copies available for much cheaper than anywhere else. The Bible is $35 (I have 5) and the Treasury is $30 (I have 3). I also have one special Bible, a journaling Bible edition for $40. If you are interested in purchasing one or more of these, please make checks payable to Trinity Lutheran Church. Be nurtured for the journey with Jesus.
