Rushton Elementary is a local school that Trinity serves as part of our mission focus as “A Community Following Jesus.” This mission relationship formally began in 2012 with assistance for their school supply drive and has blossomed into an ongoing mission where volunteers have served as mentors, tutors, classroom helpers, pantry helpers, lunch buddies, leading Chat ‘n Chew, book fairs, the fall festival, and in various other ways. We want to invite you to join our Trinity team in the effort to support the students and staff, not only with our donations, but as a volunteer in the school. Volunteers are known as MVPs. My Volunteer Pal (MVP) program is the volunteer program for all Shawnee Mission Schools. MVP connects adult volunteers with students ages Pre-Kinder-garten to age 18. Volunteer Pals choose from a range of in-school activities, as listed above. Volunteers enjoy flexible schedules, and all activities take place on school grounds during school hours. Training and background checks are required. Please contact Rhonda Synovec, rhonda@tlcms.org for more information.
