Thanks for dropping by the Author’s Corner.  On your way to somewhere, I guess, but not so much. Seems like we are all in this thing together—I mean sheltering-in-place! During these quiet days, you may have cleaned out your closet, resorted your storage spaces, read a book or two, watched more than enough TV, or spent a lot of time on Facebook. Now what? The big search is for something to do when there’s nothing to do.

I would like to spend the next few weeks to help you explore areas of your life that need to be shared. In the past, you may not have had the time to do much exploring. But now you have the time! These are areas for which you are equipped with a lot of knowledge—after all, it’s about your life. The problem for most of us, this is an area which is often under “lock and key,” rarely talked about let alone expressed in writing.

My purpose is to encourage you to survey this vast knowledge and experience—something that may be a mystery to your family and friends. Then engage it with words—your words—expressed in written form so they can be read and enjoyed. For many of us who are older, this becomes an opportunity to create and leave a legacy for our family.

My wife’s mother, Jean, who went home to be with her Lord at 103, in her final years, spent over two hours in a video interview with her granddaughter sharing her life. We are all fortunate as a family to have this record of her amazing life that spanned more than a century. Like Jean, many of you have a hidden treasure that needs to be shared with your family and friends. Your life, but more particularly, the faithfulness of God throughout your many years, is intended to encourage your children, grandchildren, and their children, in their faith-walk.

Your action today—think! Prayerfully think about your life. Think about how has God demonstrated His faithfulness to you through the years.  Until next time when you pass by the Author’s Corner . . .

Blessings and Shalom

Psalm 45:1
. . . My heart overflows with a pleasing theme; I address my verses to the king;
my tongue is like the pen of a ready scribe.
