In the wake of George Floyd’s death, our society is grappling with race relations. As a church, we want to stand up for all those who are the victims of racism and injustice. As a church, we also want to stand up and support all those in law enforcement who are carrying out a very necessary and God-given task in maintaining civil order. To that end, we want to invite the people of Trinity to show that support in some very specific, tangible ways:

  • Writing them a short letter of encouragement. Letters can be as simple as “We support you and we appreciate your service.”
  • Bringing them a small gift. Since officers work out of their cars, so cookies, donuts, or other snacks they can grab and go are ideal. Gatorade or something similar goes a long way on a hot day.
  • Signs of support: Some people have posted signs supporting officers at the entrances to police department parking lots. This gets the message of support to others in the community also.
