It has been a few weeks since “We Sing the Faith” Hymn Festival at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts in commemoration of the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation. Thank you SO MUCH to our members who gave of their time, talent, and resources to create such an inspiring and uplifting hymn festival! The congregation and choir gathered in an attitude of worship, and there was no boasting or praise of organizations or church—only the praise to our Lord who graciously gives us all things. From beginning to end, the humility of the event made it more beautiful. We continue to hear so many people thank those who organized and participated in the event, saying how meaningful it was for them to attend and sing.

Additionally, the DVD being produced will be a great blessing to those who were not able to attend. In so many ways, this was an excellent example of one of the main tenets of the Reformation—the priesthood of the baptized—in full flower. We know that a powerful and faithful witness to the Gospel was given, and we pray that it touched new hearts for Christ and will produce abundant fruit beyond what we can ask or even imagine. To God be all glory! (Ephesians 3:20-21)

Our good and gracious Lord, Creator of earth and all its inhabitants, You bless Your people with abundant grace, daily bread, and thankful hearts. Grant that our days be spent in service to You, in remembrance of Your Son, our Savior, who has redeemed us and set us high upon a rock. Send Your Spirit among our congregations, that we may continue to sing Your praises each day. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
