A group of youth and young adults served on Sunday morning at Immanuel Community Outreach Association (ICOA) in Kansas City, Kansas. We helped clean up around the property and divided up a large pasta donation. After serving and learning more about ICOA, their food pantry, and other ways they serve their community, we worshipped with them at their bilingual service.
Interested in serving at ICOA or learning more about them? Here is what Deb Hartje had to say about how we can partner with them:

Right now we could use hats and gloves to share with our neighbors, especially those who walk to the food pantry. We could also use soups & stews this time of year.

Families can always set up their own service project to come help out. There’s always something to do! I would invite them to come serve at the pantry but we are closed the 24th and 31st—just the way the calendar falls this year. Normally we are open Tuesdays 8am-noon.

For prayers –

  • Please pray God provides the food and people resources weekly to meet the needs of neighbors who come through the pantry line.
  • Pray for safety and smooth roads as our drivers train to drive our new box truck.
  • Pray for good communication & teamwork as we work with Sam’s in Liberty, piloting a new Harvesters program where we pick up directly from the store.
  • Pray for wisdom as we seek to hear God’s voice and move towards what he has in store next for our community.

We praise God for Deb and her team who share Jesus’ love with their community! Here is ICOA’s website to learn more!
