Midweek Worship Music

Please join us for midweek Lenten worship! Noon services at Mission will include an organ prelude and several traditional Lenten hymns. The 6 pm service at Mission and the 7 pm Shawnee service will use Holden Evening Prayer. Written by Marty Haugen for Holden Village, a Lutheran retreat center in Washington state, Holden Evening Prayer is a lovely setting for evening worship, accompanied by piano. All three services will include the same scripture lesson and the same sermon.

Midweek Worship Sermon Series

What is faith? Hebrews 11:1 defines it this way: “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” Our midweek sermon series focuses on the book of Hebrews, especially the eleventh chapter. The first four weeks provide a journey through the faith of the Old Testament figures, especially Noah (2/25), Abraham (3/4), Moses (3/11), and the Israelites (3/18). The fifth week (3/25) brings us to Jesus, “the perfecter of our faith,” and his path to the cross.

*Please note that the Ash Wednesday evening service at the Mission campus will begin at 7pm; subsequent evening midweek services at the Mission campus will begin at 6pm.

Lenten meals will be offered February 18 – March 25 at 5:30pm at the Shawnee campus.
