Coffee and Conversation Begins Sept. 13
Parents of all age groups are invited to join in conversation and connection during the Sunday School hour, 9:45-10:40am. This opportunity provides time to share a short devotion and discussion question, plus time to connect and build relationships with other parents over a cup of coffee.
Church Kickoff Picnic Recap
The annual Fall Kickoff Picnic was held on Sunday, August 30, at Shawnee Mission Park. It was a very warm day, but we were blessed with a breeze and shade for the afternoon. There were lots of great conversations and new friendships made throughout our time together.

Lutheran Early Response Team in KCK
LERT (Lutheran Early Response Team) has been activated in Kansas City, Kansas (KCK), following the severe storm that impacted the Quindaro area on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning of last week. The Immanuel Community Outreach Association (ICOA) will serve as the central hub for this response effort. Find out how you can help!

Call Committee Reviews Candidate Lists
The Call Committee has received the list of pastoral candidates from the District and is ready to begin the next phase of the call process. Our first committee meeting is scheduled for September 1, when members will begin reviewing candidate information and discussing those we would like to invite for interviews. Corn Hole Tournament for Church Picnic
We are having a church wide picnic on August 30th, and the youth program will be hosting a corn hole tournament! I am looking for volunteers who would be willing to either bring a corn hole board, sign up to participate as a team, or help referee. You can sign up for any of these positions here! Pastor Mark’s Doctoral Update
Thank you for your prayers and support of my Doctor of Ministry studies. During May and June, I completed the first class during a summer intensive. The next class begins on August 24th and will focus on doctoral research and writing. Thank you for your continued encouragement, support, and prayers.
Preschool Begins August 24
Trinity Lutheran Church Preschool begins Monday, August 24! This year’s theme is Bubblin’ with JOY based upon Nehemiah 8:10b-“The joy of the Lord is your strength.”
Please pray for the staff, students and their families as they begin new routines, meet new people and learn more about the joy found in Jesus.
Blessing of the Backpacks
August 16, 8:30 and 11am services at both campuses
Students and teachers of all ages are invited to bring their backpacks with them to worship on August 16th. At the end of the children’s message, we will bless the backpacks and pray for all those returning to school this year.

Great American Giveaway Thank You
The Great American Giveaway Team would like to thank everyone for all of your help in making this year’s Giveaway a huge success!
