Maundy Thursday Seder Meal
Join us for a special Seder meal, as we celebrate the Passover the way Jesus and his disciples would have celebrated it. We will also see how Jesus changed this traditional meal, bringing it to fulfillment as he instituted the meal we now call Holy Communion.
Dates for New Member Class
New member class will begin on Tuesday, March 28 at 6:30pm and continue for four consecutive Tuesdays. The class will be offered hybrid style with both in-person and Zoom options. Contact Pastor Mark for more information.
250th Anniversary of Amazing Grace
Happy 250th birthday to “Amazing Grace”!
A popular hymn celebrates its 250th birthday this year: John Newton (1725-1807) wrote “Amazing Grace” in early 1773. Newton’s remarkable life journey included time as a sea captain and slave trader. During a storm at sea, he converted to Christianity and later became an Anglican minister and anti-slavery activist.
Middle School Serve Week
June 19th – 23rd
Open to students currently in grades 5-7
Middle School Students will volunteer with VBS in the morning, eat lunch together, and then spend the afternoon doing service projects in Kansas City.
Heit’s Point Camp for Middle Schoolers
July 23 – 28 Pioneer Camp
Heit’s Point is a summer camp just two hours East of KC in Lincoln, MO right on a lake. It is a beautiful location with great staff and fun activities for students.
Easter Baskets for Homebound Members
Trinity’s senior community will be making and delivering Easter baskets to our homebound members again this year. We will purchase baskets and ask that you help us in filling them.
Woman Composer Sunday
On March 5, 2023, several church musicians’ associations are celebrating music by women on Woman Composer Sunday. Linked to International Women’s Day (March 8), which has occurred for over a century, Woman Composer Sunday is an initiative of the American Guild of Organists, the Society of Women Organists, and the Royal College of Organists.
VBS Registration Is Live!
Stellar VBS registration is now open for signing up your kids and signing up to help volunteer. The light of Jesus’ love shines on kids! Kids will launch on a cosmic quest where they’ll have a blast shining Jesus’ light to the world. Stellar VBS rockets kids on an out-of-this-world adventure that’s light years of faith-building fun.
Easter Treats provided by Youth!
A treat table will be provided at both campuses for Easter this year by youth families! A free-will offering will be available that benefits youth scholarships for large events like retreats, summer camp, and mission trips. Celebrate Easter with a sweet treat and help all students participate in faith-impacting events!
Special Grant to Address Homelessness in JoCo
Trinity recently presented a $25,000 check to Scott Cooper, executive director of Metro Lutheran Ministry (MLM), for rapid rehousing and minor home repairs, both of which are MLM programs that help prevent homelessness. MLM has established a presence in Johnson County and is now addressing community needs here as well as in Wyandotte and Jackson counties.
Souper Bowl of Caring Thank You
The Mission Community Food pantry and the Ruth Circle of the LWML would like to say a BIG thank you to all who donated items, or dollars, for the Souper Bowl of Caring drive. Trinity’s support and generosity is amazing.
