Worship
Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend worship where God wraps His loving arms around his people, our sins are forgiven, and we are refreshed by His Word. You should expect to be welcomed warmly and greeted as you enter. Visitors will find it easy to follow along with worship since all services have the worship portions projected on screens.
Are children welcome in worship?
We love children at Trinity! Children are always welcome to attend worship service with you, and it is encouraged. We firmly believe the most important people influencing the faith formation of a child are found in the home – parents, grandparents, guardians. Trinity has always valued families worshiping together. One of the key ways children learn about God is by watching their parents worship. We encourage you to keep your children with you in church to worship as a family. We also offer a staffed nursery for children 6 months to 3 years of age. At Shawnee, the nursery is downstairs in room 103. At Mission, the nursery is around the corner from the Sanctuary.
What should I wear to church?
We’re not concerned with how you’re dressed, but that you’re comfortable worshiping with us. At Mission, expect to see a variety of dress from jeans to suits. At Shawnee, we are mostly casual.
What does it mean to be a Lutheran?
Being a Lutheran is best exemplified by Ephesians 2:8–10, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
We celebrate two sacraments (i.e. way to receive God’s gift of grace): Communion and Baptism. If you share our Christian faith, even if you are not a member, you are always welcome to participate with us in the celebration of Communion. In celebration of the Sacrament of Baptism, we baptize infants and adults.
If you’re looking for a church and a faith family, Trinity has much to offer and many opportunities to serve. Youth and child ministries abound, along with groups, classes and activities for all ages. We hope you feel welcome at Trinity!
