Two-Year-Old Bible Milestone & Parent Class
January 18 and 25As parents work to shape the faith life of their child, Children’s Ministry offers a two-year-old Bible Milestone class and Bible presentation as part of our Milestones Ministry!
Parents of two-year-olds will meet during the Sunday School hour to hear, and share, ideas of ways to begin shaping the faith life of their children. One of those ways is to be in God’s Word and hear Bible stories. We provide a Hands One Bile to present to your child. Presentations will take place that same morning during the 11am service. We are excited to celebrate this important event with you and your child. Campus details are below:

Sunday School Milestones
Begins January 189:45-10:40am, Sundays
Beginning January 18
As we grow in our faith together, there are basic faith milestones we pray our children will learn and keep in their hearts. Our children’s ministry program teaches faith milestones in our Sunday morning ministry each year. We do this to help the children grow in their understanding of these milestones as they grow in their faith and love for God. We focus on teaching The Lord’s Prayer, the Books of the Bible, The 10 Commandments, and The Apostles’ Creed.
Milestone classes are held during the Sunday School hour, 9:45-10:45am. Please plan to have your children join us. This is how the classes will work under our current large group Sunday School setting:
The Lord’s Prayer
This class is for our toddlers through Pre-K students. We will pray the prayer each week in class and encourage parents to do the same as a family. We will then talk about the different prayer petitions each week in age appropriate classes, so children know what it means when they pray these words. The children will lead the prayer in our worship celebration in March.
How to Pray – our first grade students will begin Milestone classes with the Lord’s Prayer alongside the kindergarten students. They will then separate to explore prayer further, learning how to pray different prayers for different situations. We want to help children feel comfortable and confident to pray.
The Books of the Bible
The Books of the Bible curriculum is a two-year program for our second and third grade students where year one we explore the Old Testament and year two we explore the New Testament. We will be doing year two curriculum this year. Children will not just learn the books of the Bible order, but they will dig into scripture, learn about the Gospels, explore the history of the church, read the letters of the Epistles, and discover that God wins in Revelation. We will also learn that the New Testament stories show us how to live our lives today following Jesus. We will celebrate this milestone in worship in March.
Ten Commandments and Apostles’ Creed
The Ten Commandments will be offered for the fourth grade students. They will learn and explore the meaning to each of the Commandments. They will also learn how the Commandments apply to our everyday lives and guide our steps in following Jesus. We will celebrate this milestone in worship in March.
The Apostles’ Creed will be taught to our fifth grade students. The students will learn what it means when we declare “I believe” as we say the creed. They will learn about the Trinity – God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit and will share what the Creed means to them. We will celebrate this milestone in worship in March.
We are excited to share this milestone experience with you and your family. We will even have different pieces that invite you, as parents, into the process and class so you can share this with your children.

Coffee and Conversation - Mission Campus
Begins January 18
Parents are invited to join in a NEW opportunity for conversation and connection each week starting January 18th during the Sunday School hour, 9:45-10:40am.
This opportunity provides time to share in a topical Bible study, plus time to connect and build relationships with other parents over a cup of coffee. Parents can take their children to Sunday School and then come together for conversation and connection, to build relationships with others, to support one another, and grow in Christian fellowship. We will end our time at 10:40am to allow parents time to pick up their children from Sunday School and to prepare for the 11am worship. Hope you will join us!

Sunday School Program
Trinity offers Sunday School each Sunday at each campus at 9:45am for one hour. Children learn Bible stories, life application of God’s Word in their daily lives, how they are a part of God’s kingdom and how much God loves them. Summers and holiday weekends give us the opportunity to switch things up a bit and shake up the curriculum, sometimes providing group activities, sometimes trying out a multi-generational study.
Simply Loved Curriculum
Simply Loved Sunday School is designed to help kids remember each lesson long after their children’s ministry years. Bible Stories are shared each week through active, participatory learning which is age appropriate. Bible Buddies help to reinforce the Bible story and Bible Verse each week. The children are given a Bible Buddy sticker with the Bible Verse on it so they can place God’s Word in their hearts and minds. This curriculum also emphasizes Life Application of God’s Word into their daily lives as we learn how much God loves us and then we seek to Simply Love others around us.
Milestones
As children learn and grow in their knowledge of the Bible and understanding in faith, they reach tangible milestones of learning. We celebrate each of these milestones as an important step in a lifetime of learning. At Trinity, we celebrate milestones, starting from birth with baptism. We continue them in our Sunday morning program. Milestones include:
- Age 2: Bible presentation
- Age 3: Prayer Book
- Age 4: The Lord’s Prayer
- Kindergarten: The 10 Commandments
- Grade 1: The 10 Commandments
- Grade 2: Bible presentation and Books of the Bible
- Grade 3: Books of the Bible
- Grades 4 and 5: The Apostles’ Creed
All completed milestones are celebrated in a worship service.
Mentoring – Mission Campus
All children from second grade to fifth grade are assigned a youth or adult mentor. This is a time for your child to develop a relationship with another person at Trinity. These relationships help children feel more comfortable in our church environment and give them valuable interaction with mature Christians. Children learn how important faith is to the adults around them. Mentoring begins promptly at 9:35am and lasts for 10 minutes. It is important for your child to be in attendance by 9:35am so they can spend the full 10 minutes with the mentor.
