Once again, the beautiful and meaningful season of Advent is upon us and our theme this year comes from Charles Wesley’s (1707-1788) great hymn, “Lo, He Comes with Clouds Descending”
Wednesday, November 27 | 7pm, Both Campuses | Jesus has shown us God’s gracious love, a love that has arrived in so many ways. On Thanksgiving Eve, we have an opportunity to gather, center our hearts, and share our gratitude for God’s grace and care.
Trinity’s annual Advent Lessons and Carols is given this year in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of American organist and Lutheran composer Dr. Paul O. Manz. Paul Manz is largely credited with the creation of the modern hymn festival and over the course of his long and fruitful career he wrote and played thousands of hymn festivals.
All are invited to a German language service of Advent and Christmas lessons and carols, on Monday, December 16, at 7pm at Trinity’s Mission campus. This service is sponsored by the KC German Language Meet-up group and other area German clubs.
November 2-3 is All Saints’ Day (observed) as we remember that God has made into saints all who have been baptized into Christ. On the festival of All Saints’ Day we honor especially those saints who have died in the faith within the last year.
