2024 OneFund
Commitments

It’s Not Too Late!

Last Sunday was OneFund Commitment Sunday. We had the opportunity to make commitments to God regarding worship attendance, Bible study, prayer, and financial support for His work. Thank you to all who have returned a completed OneFund card. If you haven’t yet completed a OneFund card, please do so. Please place the completed card in the container in the foyer at each campus. Extra cards are available at both campuses. You may also make a commitment with the online form – see the link below.

Financial Update

Trinity started off with a sluggish January that fell far behind what we had projected and what we had brought in the previous year. February was better as we outpaced the previous year, but we still failed to meet our budget. March was a similar story being below the previous year and our budget. The good news is on the expenses side we have remained under budget consistently, which has helped to offset the bottom line. As of now, we are experiencing about a 10% shortfall in our income in this fiscal year.
This hasn’t necessarily been the easiest year with international unrest, unruly weather, and a turbulent economy, but the work of the church goes on. While we will be short-staffed for the foreseeable future we strive to be good stewards with the blessings that God has provided. We have increased the amount of our budget that goes directly to mission work to 9.5% with the eventual goal of reaching 10% in the future.
God remains faithful and I give thanks for the generous givers in our congregation. While financial numbers are important, even more important is the ministry represented by those numbers. As a result of your ongoing, faithful support of Trinity, we are able to share the love of Jesus with people in the urban core through the ministries of mercy we support; with the children of community families and member families through our preschool, Sunday School, and vacation Bible school; with mission partners in Guatemala; with our youth as they also serve others; with those who gather for worship as well as those who join us online.
I am reminded of God’s love for His church in a recent lectionary reading:

“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.”

1 John 4:7-8

We know God and His love for us. We see it in our daily lives. We then have opportunity to show that love as we walk together as A Community Following Jesus as we focus on the UP, IN, and OUT of discipleship.
All of this and more is possible because you share the blessings God has entrusted to you. May God bless us and always give us generous hearts, to the praise of His holy name.
In His name,
Pastor Luke Jacob
