Welcome Back!

Reservations for worship are no longer required!

Reservations for midweek Brief Services of Confession and Communion are still requested.

In-Person Worship Update

In-person worship continues to go smoothly at both campuses, including celebrating Holy Communion at all services. One change we are implementing is that beginning immediately, advance sign up for in-person worship on Saturday and Sunday is no longer required. (We do still need you to sign up in advance for the midweek Brief Services of Confession and Communion.)

Thank you for your cooperation and assistance in helping us provide a safe environment for in-person worship.

A Message from Pastor Mark Regarding Resuming “In Person” Worship

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Gathering together in worship is at the heart of who we are and what we do as the people of God. Even though we are thankful for the option of online worship over these past weeks, it has always been our desire to resume “in person” worship as soon as we could safely do so.

We believe we are now at that point. In person worship resumed on the weekend of June 20/21. Communion during worship services resumes August 8-9.

We have procedures in place to minimize contact with multi-touch surfaces such as door handles and offering plates, to disinfect between services, and to be seated according to social distancing guidelines. There will be no “in person” Bible classes or Sunday School on Sunday mornings, no nursery, as well as no social hour after worship.

As we resume “in person” worship, the services will include a children’s message video and celebration of Holy Communion. The children’s message will continue to be available online, and Holy Communion will continue to be offered at Brief Services during the week. Pastor Mark or Pastor Phil are also ready to make arrangements for individual communion as requested.

Also, based on the best current scientific research, we will initially not be having congregational singing to minimize the risk of virus transmission.

Please watch the short video “What to Expect” below which highlights changes made to ensure the safety of worshipers.

Due to the need to disinfect surfaces between services, we are moving the start time of the 8:30 service at the Mission campus to 8:15. All other services will start at their usual time.

We encourage those who are high-risk to continue to worship online, but as always ask that you use your best judgment. We ask all who will be attending “in person” worship to wear a mask/bandanna as a visible expression of “loving your neighbor as yourself.”

Attendees need to sign up in advance. Please sign up to attend the service of your choice each week with the link above. Those without internet access who wish to attend may sign up by calling the church office at 913-432-5441.

If you have any questions or concerns about our reopening process, please direct them to me (913-231-9726) or mark@tlcms.org.

May God bless us as we live as a “Community Following Jesus.”

Pastor Mark
