A popular hymn celebrates its 250th birthday this year: John Newton (1725-1807) wrote “Amazing Grace” in early 1773. Newton’s remarkable life journey included time as a sea captain and slave trader. During a storm at sea, he converted to Christianity and later became an Anglican minister and anti-slavery activist.

Special Grant to Address Homelessness in JoCo

Special Grant to Address Homelessness in JoCo

Trinity recently presented a $25,000 check to Scott Cooper, executive director of Metro Lutheran Ministry (MLM), for rapid rehousing and minor home repairs, both of which are MLM programs that help prevent homelessness. MLM has established a presence in Johnson County and is now addressing community needs here as well as in Wyandotte and Jackson counties.
