My Grateful Heart
by Eldor Kaiser
I’m forgetful, my thoughts are slow
my mind wanders to and fro.
My steps are small, my words don’t flow
and there is much I still don’t know.
But there is much that I can do.
God’s blessings everyday are new.
O Lord give me a grateful heart.
I think of gifts that I’ve been given,
from the open hand of heaven.
Gifts of body mind and spirit,
the gift of life I shall inherit.
Then I begin-can make a start
to express what’s in my heart.
O God I thank you from my heart.

Walking in the Light
by Roselea Nellis
If we walk in the light, as He is in the light
We will have fellowship, one with another.
We will share in the joy of salvation,
We’ll have loving concern for each other.
If we walk in the light, as He is in the light
We can bring hope, love, and joy to dark places,
And by the power of the Spirit within us,
Gladden hearts and homes, minds and faces.
If we walk in the light, as He is in the light
And the lamp unto our feet is God’s word,
Hearts will be changed, songs will be sung,
Shouts of thanksgiving and praise will be heard.
In writing this poem the author used 1 John for much of her Scriptural references.
