On Sunday, May 23 Trinity will recognize our 2021 High School Graduates during service with a blessing and special gift.  Please take a moment to read what the class of 2021’s future plans include and help congratulate them on all they have accomplished.

Haylee is a 2021 graduate of De Soto High School.  She will be attending Fort Hays State University to Major in Communication Sciences and Disorders.  She then plans to earn a Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology.

In five years, she sees herself graduated from FHSU with both her Bachelor and Master’s Degree.  She will be getting ready for the licensure process to become a Speech and Language Pathologist.  Haylee would love to travel around the United States and help people that cannot afford speech therapy or do not have access to the help they may need.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

Philippians 4:6

Anna is a 2021 graduate of Lawrence High School. She will be attending a specific program this August and then will continue to work to save up for an apartment. Johnson County Community College may be in her future plans where she may take classes to become a teacher. She plans to swim, take art classes, and be active in choir.

Anna’s favorite classes in High School were Advanced Placement courses and Human Biology class. She always enjoys learning and teaching!

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Deuteronomy 31:6

Evan is a 2021 graduate of Lawrence High School and is currently undecided about his future plans at this time.

His favorite moment from youth group, VBS, and LVR is meeting a bunch of new people and connecting with them. He remembers when Beth Stephens became the new Youth Director. Evan could tell that she was really nervous and didn’t know anyone’s name yet, but she got the hang of it really quickly!

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:16

Nick is a 2021 graduate of St. James Academy. He will be attending William Jewell College where he is looking forward to playing soccer and taking business classes.

“We are so proud of you for your perseverance this year with all the obstacles that came your way. We cannot wait to see what your future holds!”

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Philippians 4: 13

Brooke is a 2021 graduate of Saint Thomas Aquinas High School. She will be attending University of Nebraska-Kearney to play golf.

Brooke is excited to start the next chapter in her life. She is looking forward to spending the summer with friends and family and playing plenty of golf with her dad and sister before heading off to college.

Prayers and Blessing upon the Graduates

Lord, make these graduates to be instruments of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let them sow love.
Where there is in injury, pardon.
Where there is doubt, faith.
Where there is despair, hope.
Where there is darkness, light.
Where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,
grant that they and we may not so much seek to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen.

May God bless you with discomfort at easy answers, half-truths, and superficial relationships so that you may live deep within your heart.

May God bless you with anger at injustice, oppression and exploitation of people, so that you may wish for justice, freedom and peace.

May God bless you with enough foolishness to believe that you can make a difference in this world, so that you can do what others claim cannot be done. Amen.

Congratulations class of 2021, God’s continued blessings!
