Trinity groups and individuals who contribute to the Quilts and Kits projects will find changes this year. Orphan Grain Train is the new distribution point for our donations. School, hygiene, layette, etc. kits have a new list of items with small changes in the requirements. It is important to follow the lists exactly as given.
Item lists have been provided to groups and copies can be found on the foyer kiosk. Completed kits may be dropped off at the Mission Campus in the quilters’ room downstairs next to the kitchen annex.
VERY IMPORTANT: No additions, deletions or substitutions for any of the kits. Do not include items with religious, camouflage, patriotic or military symbols. Do not add money, photos, or personal notes. Although well-meaning variations are tempting, please do not do this. It may result in heavy fines and/or the entire shipment being confiscated by customs officials.
Hygiene Kits
Each kit contains:
- 1 bath towel, 52” x 27” (dark color)
- 1 bath size bar of soap (4-5 oz.)
- 1 sturdy comb
- 1 nail clipper
- 1 small package facial tissues
- 1 wash cloth (dark color)
- 1 plastic soap box holder
- 1 toothbrush
- 6 Band-Aids (1/2 or 3/4”) secured together
- 1 piece of strong ribbon or cord for securing kit
Spread bath towel flat. Fold over about 5” on each long side. Place everything in center between folds. Roll up towel. Use strong ribbon or cord and tie at both ends.
Feminine Hygiene Kits
Each kit contains:
- 1 drawstring bag
- 2 pairs panties (girls size 10-14)
- 8 tri-fold panty liners
- 1 travel size bar of soap
- 2 one gallon Ziplock freezer bags
- 2 panty shields
- 1 washcloth

School Kits
Each kit contains:
- 1 scissors
- 1 pencil sharpener
- 10 sheets construction paper
- 1 box of 24 crayons
- 1 ruler
- 2 pencils
- 2 glue sticks
- 1 package colored pencils (12 count)
- 2 spiral notebooks
- 2 pens
- 1 eraser
- 1 backpack, drawstring athletic bag or homemade tote bag
Stack flat items together. Place all items inside bag. Close bag.
Layette Kits
Each kit contains:
- 1 sleeper
- 1 receiving blanket
- 4 diaper pins
- 2 rubber or swimmer pants
- 2 onesies
- 1 blanket
- 4 cloth diapers
- 2 washcloths
Lay out one blanket on flat surface. Fold cloth items and place on the blanket. Wrap blanket around items and roll together. Secure with pins.
