We prepare our hearts during Holy Week to journey with Jesus to the Cross. Each day is like a step along a path, a path that leads to Easter. The footprints we saw Sunday led us to the Hosannas of Palm Sunday. Finally, the promised King had come to deliver His people. Jesus was their King, the Savior they needed, but He was not the type of king the people wanted. Soon their shouts of “Hosanna” would turn to shouts of “Crucify him!”
Jesus will now finish His path through Maundy Thursday and Good Friday as He takes these final steps to the cross for us. Walk with Jesus to the cross as we prepare our hearts for the joyous Easter celebration that is to come.
