“God Give Us Faith to Sing Always…”
Saturday, March 21
Reception to follow
The words and melodies of great hymns are a rich treasury that speak messages of encouragement, consolation, prayer, and praise to our hearts. In celebration of our 80th anniversary and 10th organ anniversary, world-renowned guest organist Dr. David Cherwien and the Trinity Choir will lead us through psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs both old and new. Bring an open heart, mind, and spirit as we join our voices together to sing the songs of our faith! Dr. Cherwien, music director of the National Lutheran Choir, is a nationally known conductor, composer, and organist. Recognized for his contributions to the field of church music and liturgy, he is in demand as a clinician and hymn festival leader across the country. David serves as editor of the National Lutheran Choir Series of choral music published by Morningstar Music Publishers. He is a founding member of the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians and has served in its leadership in a variety of capacities, including as National President from 1993 to 1997. He is a member of the American Choral Director’s Association, American Guild of Organists, Chorus America, and Choristers Guild. David played the inaugural recital of the organ in 2010 and we are excited to welcome him back to lead our 10th anniversary celebration.
