Monday, March 16

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to unfold, we have been following guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). The latest recommendation of the CDC public health experts is to limit the size of gatherings to less than 50. We believe that we should follow this recommendation. Following this recommendation means:

  • There will not be physical worship services held at either campus for Wednesday, March 18, or Saturday/Sunday, March 21-22. We will send you information on how to access brief worship services with a sermon for home viewing for these two worship occasions. (After the trial run of this week, we will let you know if this pattern for virtual worship will continue.)
  • 50+ Bible study, the Wednesday Lenten meal at the Shawnee campus, and all Sunday morning activities are canceled.
  • Meetings of smaller groups of people, including Bible studies during the week and Lenten mentoring, may meet at the discretion of the group.

In the midst of the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic, we are acquainted with stress and uncertainty.  Yet our Lord also speaks His word of promise to us: “Surely, I am with you always.” May we find comfort in this simple and beautiful promise!

We are temporarily suspending gathering together in worship, but are by no means suspending being a Community Following Jesus.” This is a unique time. It provides us with a unique opportunity to “be the Church” in the communities we serve.

Jesus said: “Surely I am with you always.” Peace be with you.
