Dear Parents,

I loved seeing some pictures of kiddos and their pets in last Sunday’s children’s talk. I also love that you are continuing to post pics on our private Facebook page for Children’s Ministry. I do have to admit I really miss seeing the faces of all the children in person though.

At Trinity, the name for our amazing Sunday School teachers is “Shepherds” and this is the word used to describe them. These amazing volunteers are truly shepherds – they lovingly share God’s Word with our children, they care for them, they pray for them, and they are willing to help them in any way needed. They are there to form Christian relationships with our children and to guide them through life application and understanding of what they are learning together.

YOU, however, are the best “Shepherds” in the faith life of your child(ren). You have been given the amazing, awesome, and sometimes overwhelming responsibility of raising your kiddos. It can, and will be, challenging and rewarding at the same time. This I do know – your children are so blessed they have you as parents to share God’s love with them. They see faith being lived out through your words and actions with your family, with your friends and neighbors, or with those in the community around you. Kids are always watching and learning from us. What better way to shepherd your children than being in worship together, reading the Bible together, praying together and serving others.

We shepherd because we know the Good Shepherd – Jesus. We trust that He is in control of all things and He is always with us no matter what trials and tribulations are happening around us. You can trust in Him to guide you, to sustain you, to give you strength, hope and peace.

Here is my question – who will your family shepherd? With whom will you share the love of Christ? Where is He leading you to serve? Make a plan together as a family to GO and be his disciples in this world.

Your Trinity family is here for you! Please know I am always here to pray with you, to cry with you, to lend a listening ear, to share a laugh with or whatever you need. We ARE the church, we ARE Easter people, and we continue to give God worship and praise – even in the midst of difficult times. We come together in new ways to worship and serve because of the Shepherd’s love for us. We know, and trust, that the God who loves us so much He sent Jesus to be our Savior is with us and through it all God will be glorified.

We continue to be here to encourage, equip, and guide you as you are the “Light of Christ” for your children, family, friends, and neighbors. The Children’s Ministry page has ideas/tips/resources to help you lead by faith with your family. Please feel free to contact me any time if I can serve you or your family in any way.
