The Pastor scheduled to lead worship this past week returned to the USA due to health concerns. Saturday’s service in the Town Church was led by Fred Smith, a LCMS pastor living in Berlin since 1991. The last parish he served in the USA was St. Luke’s in Manhatten, KS. We were blessed that he was available on short notice. Worship attendees included a tour group from Australia.
This past Sunday the German churches observed Thanksgiving. Almost every church has a wreath made from ripened grains. Many have fruit and vegetables displayed—ranging from the small to the elaborate.
Noticed this display advertising potatoes at one of the local grocery stores—25 kg bags (55 lbs) for €14.99–got to love potatoes. Must admit…it made me smile!
