The LCMS Kansas District and St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church invite you to attend a special Divine Service with Farewell and Godspeed for LCMS Kansas District President Rev. Peter K. Lange Friday, August 2, at 7 p.m. at St. John’s (901 SW Fillmore St., Topeka, 66606). President Lange was elected first vice-president of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod at the 2019 LCMS National Convention July 21.
It’s difficult to say what a remarkable moment this is for the LCMS Kansas District. The occasion is cause for giving thanks to the Lord for raising up faithful pastors to serve in these capacities throughout our Synod. Thanks and praise to Him alone!
The Rev. Dr. Lawrence Rast, president of Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, will serve as guest preacher at the service. Offerings gathered that evening will support the LCMS Joint Seminary Fund. Checks should be made out to the LCMS Kansas District, noting “Joint Seminary Fund” in the memo line.
A reception and short program will follow the service. If you can’t attend the program but would like to send good wishes, you can send them in care of the LCMS Kansas District (1000 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS, 66604).
We hope that many of you will be able to join us for this very special occasion in the life of the Kansas District.
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thess. 5:16).
