The Missions Committee is for the sixth year sponsoring a Mini Grant Program to fund a limited number of social service ministries, projects, and programs, each with a maximum amount of $2,500, from the 2018-19 budget. During the past few years the Mini Grants assisted:
homeless people, local low income families, individuals with developmental disabilities, youth camp programs, a youth mission trip, a new religious community garden, Bible translation programs in Ghana, women healing from infant loss, a parenting skills ministry for expecting parents, low income families in Guatemala, the sharing of Gospel materials, a mission church, individuals and families facing mental illness, shut-ins, and LCMS missionaries in Germany. The Committee especially encourages proposals from youth in the congregation, as well as proposals for smaller amounts. The goals of the program include: seeking God’s will in the use of our common resources as we strive to care for our neighbors; identifying and supporting those social services or ministries that already have Trinity member support and involvement; and discovering new opportunities for member involvement.
