Pastor Tom Van Duzer has been brought onto Trinity’s staff during our pastoral vacancy as Assistant to the Senior Pastor. He will be assisting with preaching, teaching, and visitation for about ten hours per week. Below is biographical information to help you begin to get acquainted with Pastor Tom and his wife, Mary. Please give them a hearty Trinity welcome! Tom Van Duzer was raised in Michigan where in high school he witnessed a number of his friends come to Christ through an evangelistic church youth group. This prompted God’s calling into the ministry. He graduated from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, (1979) and with wife Mary went on to plant three churches, in suburban Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Houston, Texas; and in southern California. He recently retired after serving as pastor of Our Saviour Lutheran Church in KCK. Tom and Mary have three daughters (two in Texas, one in California) and six grandchildren. He has taught church planting, been on the LCMS Commission on Worship, and had other roles. He is an experienced worship song leader on his guitars and has written and arranged more than thirty songs. Mary is his bass player. Outside of church Tom plays basketball, does woodworking and photography, and cares for his 94 year old father. Mary is an avid weaver. They love walking their neighborhood together.
