There are three items from our October 27, 2025 meeting that we wish to highlight for you.
First, Financial Picture…
Our prayers regarding giving were answered in the last couple of months, with increased giving noted in August and September. Our year-to-date expenses are slightly under budget, putting us in a favorable position for the time being.
However, we are aware of some extraordinary items that need attention at the Mission campus that would cause increases to our budgeted expenses, especially the repairs to the HVAC system, rusty emergency exit doors from the Fellowship Hall, replacement of fire alarm control panel, new ceilings, among other maintenance and repairs that arise with an aging building. So, our sustained support will be critical going forward.
Second, Emergency Plan…
An updated Emergency Plan for both campuses, guiding church staff, ushers, etc., in case of any emergency we may encounter, is now located in the usher stations.
Third, Church Needs…
Volunteers
Communion assistants, lay readers, and ushers are needed at all services. If you have an interest in any of these assignments or other areas that interest you, please contact Gretchen in the church office.
Don’t worry about being overwhelmed with the duties. You won’t be ridden like a rented mule down to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. Volunteers have control over the specific dates and times in which they serve. So, you can serve as little or often as you like. Every little bit helps.
Projects around the church
Incredibly and thankfully, the three items we listed last month for which assistance was needed were all completed by the wonderful efforts of Bill and Mary Peterson! Thank you, Bill, and Mary!
We have a new item for which either financial or creative assistance are needed. We would like some graphic inside the Shawnee building proclaiming our mission, “A Community Following Jesus.” A banner or some other type of hanging artwork is preferred as opposed to a mural painted on a wall.
