Sunday, August 4, 2 pm, Mission Campus

Dr. Lara West joins a Trinity Choir quartet; Emily Lehl, Shelby Hanna, Joseph Beech and Paul Davidson. They present, in music, the story of Mendelssohn’s revival of Bach and its influence on the founders of the Russian conservatories, sacred choral works of the Russian Orthodox Church, and the Russian artistic Diaspora in America who wrote music for Hollywood.
Featured songs include the duet “Mein Freund ist Mein” from Wachet Auf, sacred choral works in Church Slavonic, a recognition of American soldiers who died in World War I, and the theme song from High Noon.
No admission fee or minimum donation. Presenting musicians hope you will consider a donation to Kantorei KC for its new outreach program to Shelby’s schools in Turner. Kantorei KC will present some of this music in her schools, and it will provide scholarships and logistical support for Shelby’s top music students to work with a nationally recognized choral clinician at Summer Choral Institute next year.
