October 9, 2025

There are two items from our September 29, 2025 meeting that we wish to highlight for you.

First, Thanksgiving Services…

After careful deliberation, taking into account opinions from the congregation, we decided to not hold Thanksgiving services this year as attendance at these services has been very thin. Additionally, Thanksgiving is not one of the major church festivals necessarily requiring a church service.
However, we certainly agree that we should all be thankful during this time, including our thanks in any devotions and meal prayers as we gather with friends and family. So, you can expect a message of thanksgiving from Senior Pastor Luke Jacob that may be accessed online.

Second, your church needs you.

As mentioned in the last message, your church needs you on two fronts, giving financially and with your time.

On the time front, we mentioned last month that there are several ways for you to serve. We continue to need communion servers, readers, AV operators, people to visit shut-ins and give them communion, and Advent season devotion writers, just to name a few.
There are also projects around the church for which our church administrator, Brian Daniel, needs help. Three such projects include:
  • Hanging a whiteboard at the Shawnee site
  • Picking up tree limbs at the Mission site, and
  • Removing a honeysuckle bush at the Mission site.
Please contact Brian in the church office if you can help with these.
As always, please seek out and get to know your EC members as you worship alongside.
